Student of the Week

This post will be updated as new Students of the Week are Selected!

For January 14-18


The High School student of the week is Nyzire McCray. If you talk to Nyzire, you will find that he is often "just chillin'" - all day, every day. Of course, that must not be all he is doing, because a drawing of his was just featured at a Siena College event! To find out more and see the featured work, click here.

The Middle School student of the week is Alphonzo Stringfellow. This is Alponzo's second time receiving student of the week. Clearly his hard work and ambition are paying off!

For January 7-11
The High School student of the week is Dave Watson. Dave has been working hard to complete his work and be successful in his classes. Even if he does not see eye-to-eye with everyone, he is quick to move on from the issue with a positive attitude; this is a rare quality for any teenager to have! Many teachers have commented on Dave's behavior and work ethic, which has consistently improved.

The Middle School student of the week is El-Jastar Scott. El's teachers have commented on his positive behavior and hard work. He is constantly working to improve, which is shown in the  work he has completed. It has also been said that El-Jastar has been using his leadership qualities to contribute to the classroom, which has influenced his peers positively as well!

For January 2-4
This may have been a short week, but the following students would deserve it anyway!


The High School student of the week is Dominick Luhr. Dominick is one of the friendliest students at the ALC. He is always ready to work in his classes and is a great writer! He was chosen because of his exemplary attitude and work ethic.


The Middle School student of the week is Alphonzo Stringfellow. Alphonzo not only completes his work, but does it well and with a positive attitude. He takes pride in the work he accomplishes and is also polite, respectful, and just plain awesome!

For December 17-21st

 The High School student of the week is Majeeda Dickson. Majeeda has been working diligently in all of her classes and always has a smile on her face! She was chosen because of the work she has been accomplishing and the positive attitude she always strives to exhibit. Congratulations Majeeda!
